The Tiger-Cats have signed former rugby player Tadhg Leader as their new kicker/punter. Leader, who was born in Ireland and played for the Irish national team, comes to Hamilton after playing for the London Welsh club in the English Premiership.
“We’re excited to add a player of Tadhg’s caliber to our team,” said Tiger-Cats head coach Orlondo Steinauer. “He has a lot of experience kicking and punting in high-pressure situations, and we believe he’ll be a valuable addition to our roster.”
Leader is the second Irish player to sign with the Tiger-Cats in as many years, following in the footsteps of former national team captain Craig Butler. “I’m really looking forward to playing for the Tiger-Cats and competing in the CFL,” said Leader. “The atmosphere at Tim Hortons Field is always amazing, and I can’t wait to get out there and start kicking some field goals.”
